She was the second child of Kenton and Charlene Kreider. She has three sisters – Kendra, Rissa, Chris and a brother Kevin. Kate Gosselin attended the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Pennsylvania, where she later worked as a registered nurse in labor and delivery.
In 1997, Kate Kreider met Jonathan Gosselin at a picnic. The couple got married on June 12, 1999. Kate Gosselin soon found out she had a common health disorder called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), making her unable to conceive children. The couple sought infertility treatments and welcomed twin girls Cara Nicole and Madelyn Kate in 2000. Four years later, Jon and Kate Gosselin decided to add members of their family and had another set of infertility treatments. By May 2004, the Gosselin’s welcomed sextuplets Alexis Faith, Hannah Joy, Aaden Jonathan, Collin Thomas, Leah Hope and Joel Kevin.
With eight kids to take care of, Jon and Kate Gosselin found their family being featured in the NBC reality show “Home Delivery” in 2004. The following year, the Gosselins were featured on the Discovery Health special entitled “Surviving Sextuplets and Twins,” followed by another one-hour special “Surviving Sextuplets and Twins: One Year Later” in 2005. Jon and Kate Gosselin signed with Discovery Health for their own show called “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which first aired in April 2007. Two seasons later, the show moved to the TLC. In April 2009, aside from filming the fifth season of “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” Kate Gosselin and her family appeared in a TV special entitled “Jon & Kate Plus 8 Go Green!”
Kate Gosselin is also a successful author, having released the 2008 book “Multiple Blessings,” which entered the New York Times best-sellers list a week after its release. She also co-authored the 2009 book “Eight Little Faces” and is scheduled to release her first cookbook “Love is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories” on October 13, 2009.
Jon and Kate Gosselin filed for divorce on In June 22, 2009, the same day the episode wherein the couple announced their separation was aired.
