Victoria Beckham has landed a guest role as a princess on TV cartoon favourite Spongebob Squarepants. She will play Queen Amphitrite in The Clash of Triton, a 30-minute special being shown in the US on July 5. The former Spice Girl – who has three children with her soccer star husband David Beckham– will lend her voice a princess on the smash hit kids’ cartoon, Spongebob Squarepants. Other celebrities who appear in the episode include Seinfeld actor John O’Hurley as Victoria’s on-screen husband, King Neptune, and Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach as their rebellious son Triton.Posh, recorded the voice-over late last year in LA to join a list of A-list stars, including Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johansson, and David Bowie who all have had cameos on the hit show. She was persuaded to take the part by youngest son Cruz, who is a huge fan of Spongebob. And her performance impressed Nickelodeon bosses so much, the former Spice Girl is being lined up for more voice-over work. A source said: “Victoria was a complete pro and finished all her takes in a day. Spongebob Squarepants, which averages more than 70 million viewers worldwide every month, first aired in 1999. Syndicated to more than 170 markets, Time magazine named it one of the greatest TV shows of all time two years ago. It is set in underwater city Bikini Bottom and follows the lives of sea sponge Spongebob and pals Squidward Tentacles, Patrick Star and pet snail Gary.
