Rihanna, The Sexy Singer on Umbrella Song

Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born on February 20, 1988, to Monica, an accountant, and Ronald Fenty, a warehouse supervisor. Rihanna was born in in Saint Michael, Barbados, where she had to overcome her fair share of adversity as a kid—not the least of which was her father’s drug addiction and her parents’ divorce when she was 14. As a child, she witnessed her father smoking crack on several occasions, something she says she didn’t fully understand, but knew was wrong when she saw her mother’s reactions. Her mother, a native of Guyana, is Afro-Guyanese, and her father is of Barbadian and Irish descent. She is the oldest of three siblings; two younger brothers, Rorrey and Rajad Fenty.
When she was 15, as a student at the Combermere School, she formed a girl-group with two classmates. In 2003, they happened to catch producer Evan Rogers while he was on vacation in Barbados.
She released her debut album Music of the Sun in August 2005. It charted at number 10 and its lead single “Pon de Replay” became a hit. She immediately went back to the studio to start work on her second album, A Girl Like Me, which would go on to peak at number five, spawn three top 10 singles and turn her into a dance pop superstar.

In 2006, while working on her third album, she started to play with her image as an edgy sex symbol, cropping her hair into her now signature pixie cut and moving away from her reggae/dancehall-influenced sound to pop. The aptly titled Good Girl Gone Bad debuted at number two and became her best-selling album to date thanks in part to the wild success of its lead single “Umbrella.” She earned six Grammy nominations at the 2008 awards show taking home her first honor for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (“Umbrella” featuring Jay-Z).
Everyone wanted to stand under RIhanna's umbrella (ella-ella), so it was no surprise that fans and the media bandied at her side in 2009 when her then-boyfriend, Chris Brown, attacked her the night before the Grammys. Now she’s back to making headlines for her catchy music and nonsensical lyrics instead of the darker aspects of her life.

Rihanna rocks celeb-studded NBA All-Star Game
With a celebrity-studded crowd looking on, Rihanna rocked the halftime show at the NBA All-Star game on her 23rd birthday.

After Lady Gaga's egg, Rihanna's dress was one of the most talked-about items of the Grammy Awards red carpet. Wearing a barely there white number by Jean Paul Gaultier, Rihanna looked a little like a layer cake, a little like a Christmas decoration and a lot like a total stunner.
